Banquet Captain

Job Responsibilities:

Manage assigned staff in accordance with hotel policies, assist in on-going training, supervision and evaluation of event staff.

• Maintain current knowledge of event and catering trends and cost-effective management.
• Conduct pre-event meetings with staff, including daily specials, reservation information and projected business.
• Participate in weekly Banquet Event Order (BEO) Meetings
• Ensure smooth operation event by circulating regularly.
• Assist with Server and Bartender duties as needed.

Requirements:

• Two years supervisory experience in Restaurant/Bar/Event operations preferred.
• Must be able to work a varying schedule including nights and week-ends.
• Possession of certificate, or willingness to become certified in “Tips” and "ServSafe" or other similar hospitality industry courses or ability to pass such course within six months of employment.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong customer service skills and a commitment to providing an exceptional guest experience.
