Assignment Overview Travel Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer – Echo/Cardiac Location: Ellsworth, Maine (64‑bed acute care hospital) Contract: 13 weeks, variable 40‑hour schedule with 8 or 10‑hour shifts. Start: 3–4 weeks after offer (typical start date based on facility needs and credentialing). Responsibilities Perform all echocardiography procedures including transthoracic echo (TTE), transesophageal echo (TEE), stress echo, bubble study, and contrast administration. Work in the imaging department, covering both inpatient and outpatient cases. Use Philips ultrasound equipment and Cerner EMR. Potential Saturday weekend rotation and holiday coverage (~50% of holidays). Float to an affiliate hospital and perform mobile scanning when required. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years as a Cardiac Sonographer. Current BLS certification. RDCS via ARDMS or RCS via CCI certification. State licensing: Compact or Maine license if applicable. Proficiency in TTE, TEE, Stress Echo, bubble study, and contrast. Cerner EMR experience preferred. Permanent address at least 100 miles south/southwest of Bangor, ME (489 State St.) to be eligible. Unable to have previously worked permanently at any Northern Light Health Hospital. Two professional references within the past year, at least one from a supervisor, manager, or director (charge nurse acceptable; peer references excluded). Full SSN, driver’s license, and copies of all certifications required. Flu vaccination required for clearance to start. Additional Information First‑time travelers considered for the position. Unit orientation one week or less. 24/7 support from IV/VAT team, RT, hospitalist, and intensivist. All RTO requests must be approved by the manager. Free parking not available at this facility. Travelers living 100+ miles north of Bangor, ME may be considered on a case‑by‑case basis with VP approval. Pay Weekly wage: $1,560 (based on $39.00 per hour). Stipends: $1,372 (lodging $896 + meals & incidentals $476). Total weekly pay: $2,932. Annual equivalent (if rolled out to 52 weeks): $152,464.
