School NurseReports to: Campus PrincipalLocation: In-Person, CASLV Nellis Campus – Las Vegas, NV; Henderson, NVPosition Type: Part-Time(30hrs/week Mon-Fri); 12-Month (2026-2027 School Year)Position SummaryThe School Nurse is responsible for promoting the health and safety of students and staff by providing health services, managing student health records, and implementing health-related policies. The nurse will support student learning by identifying and addressing health-related barriers and maintaining a safe, healthy school environment.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide direct nursing care to students and staff, including first aid, emergency care, and chronic condition management (e.g., diabetes, asthma, seizures).Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a healthcare provider and in accordance with district policy.Maintain accurate and confidential student health records in compliance with state and federal regulations (e.g., HIPAA, FERPA).Monitor and manage communicable disease control by identifying signs of illness, notifying families, and working with public health officials as needed.Conduct vision, hearing, and other mandated health screenings.Develop and implement individual health care plans for students with medical conditions or disabilities.Serve as a liaison between home, school, and healthcare providers to promote student health and attendance.Educate students, staff, and parents about health and wellness, including hygiene, nutrition, and injury prevention.Assist with health-related emergency preparedness and contribute to the school's safety and crisis response planning.Maintain clinic supplies and ensure equipment is clean and functional.Report suspected child abuse or neglect in accordance with state laws.QualificationsRequired:Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the State of Nevada.Current CPR/First Aid certification.Experience in pediatric, public health, or school nursing.Preferred:Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).School Nurse Endorsement or willingness to obtain.Familiarity with health-related documentation systems (e.g., Infinite Campus, SNAP Health Center).Bilingual in English/Spanish or other languages common in the community.Key CompetenciesExcellent clinical judgment and emergency response skills.Strong organizational and record-keeping abilities.Effective communication and interpersonal skills with students, parents, and staff.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a school environment.Culturally responsive and committed to equity in student health care.Work EnvironmentThis is an in-person role on a CASLV school campus The work environment is primarily a school health office within a dynamic school campus.
