Senior Procurement Specialist 12 month contract Must be able to work on a W2 On-site in Sylmar, CA

SUMMARY Our client, has engaged GForce Life Sciences to provide a Sr. Procurement Specialist. This position will support the strategic procurement team by leading various supply chain projects, including supplier risk mitigation, cost analysis, vendor evaluation, and cross-functional collaboration.

DUTIES / EXPECTATIONS OF ROLE

• Lead and manage multiple supply chain projects simultaneously, including supplier risk mitigation and resilience initiatives.
• Analyze supplier quotes, bids, RFQs, and RFPs to recommend the best total cost options.
• Source and evaluate mechanical and electrical vendors for medical device components.
• Lead contract negotiations, pricing discussions, and vendor onboarding processes.
• Manage procurement requests, purchase orders, and vendor communications.
• Track and report on project milestones, procurement timelines, and cost savings.
• Support tariff mitigation strategies and identify opportunities for second sourcing.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and regulatory teams to ensure supplier compliance.
• Maintain accurate sourcing, contract, and supplier performance records.
• Perform risk analyses and develop mitigation strategies to improve supply chain resilience.
• Assign tasks, track project schedules, identify risks, and develop contingency plans.
• Prepare status reports and participate in project update meetings.
• Interface with senior management on significant project matters, often requiring cross-organizational coordination.
• Resolve project issues, working with team members and stakeholders.
• Break down complex projects or issues into digestible formats for all organizational levels.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain, finance, operations management, business administration, or related field.
• 4 years of experience in engineering, project management, procurement, or supply chain within a regulated industry, preferably medical devices.
• Proficient in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of engineering procurement, supply chain, and project activities and their interfaces.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and environmental standards.

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience in medical device manufacturing or supply chain.
• Prior procurement or analyst experience in a regulated industry.
