Intake RN The Intake RN works closely with the Director of Nursing (DON) and the nursing team to coordinate patient admissions, perform comprehensive clinical assessments, and ensure a safe, high-quality care environment. This role combines advanced nursing expertise with patient‑focused coordination to support effective intake processes and continuity of care. Responsibilities Conduct thorough nursing assessments to determine patient appropriateness for admission Oversee and manage patient admissions, transfers, and discharges Collaborate with nursing staff to monitor, assess, and document patient care during intake Communicate treatment plans and coordinate with providers to ensure optimal patient care Identify areas of non‑compliance and provide in‑services as needed Complete intake‑related audits and ensure daily checklists are accurate and completed on time Provide detailed patient handoffs to nursing staff at shift changes Identify high‑risk patients and communicate with providers regarding care plans Ensure proper documentation and follow procedures for patients requiring higher levels of care (HLOC) Coordinate return to facility for patients sent to HLOC as necessary Administer medications safely and efficiently, ensuring accurate documentation Conduct random narcotic counts and follow medication handling protocols Monitor medication availability and follow up with pharmacy as needed Assist in conducting weekly urine drug screens Receive, analyze, and upload laboratory results, communicating findings to providers Complete administrative duties as assigned by the DON Perform additional tasks as needed to support patient care and intake operations Qualifications Active, unencumbered RN license in the state of practice Valid BLS certification required Associate's degree in Nursing or higher required Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in a behavioral health, mental health, or substance use treatment setting preferred Experience in chemical dependency/addiction treatment preferred Personal passion or interest in substance use recovery strongly preferred Commitment to a drug‑free lifestyle and responsible alcohol use Leaders in active recovery must possess a minimum of 2 years of sobriety At our company, you'll join a team that values authenticity, compassion, and excellence.
