Senior Director, GBS Commercial Business Partner - USAs a pivotal member of the Global Business Services (GBS) team, the Business Partner serves as the primary liaison between GBS and the business area they represent. This role is essential in ensuring seamless communication and collaboration, acting as the primary point of contact for the SET Area. The Business Partner will orchestrate cross-functional teams within GBS, fostering an environment of innovation, efficiency, and continuous improvement to meet the evolving needs of the business.The role demands a strategic mindset, strong commercial acumen, and an ability to forge strong relationships both internally and externally. Responsibilities include translating business strategies into operational plans, facilitating the delivery of GBS services, and driving value creation through effective stakeholder engagement and service excellence. Deep knowledge/experience of the [SET Area] business and core processes is essential.This role will focus on the OBU and BBU business units within the North America region and will have a focus on engaging on the significant scale we have across existing functional and Enterprise services but also continuing to identify new opportunities aligned to business need.AccountabilitiesThe role holder will be accountable for:Acting as the primary interface between GBS and the business area, ensuring alignment and seamless delivery of services.Collaborating with SET members to shape and execute business strategies through GBS capabilities.Bringing together cross-functional teams within GBS to solve business problems by delivering integrated services that meet business needs.Managing relationships with key stakeholders to ensure high levels of satisfaction and engagement.Manage senior-level stakeholders, including Country President/Area VP/CFO/Business Unit Heads, including understanding volume, pricing and coordinating recharge agreements.Initiate the development of business cases for the delivery of new demand or services.Identifying opportunities to leverage GBS capabilities and drive adoption, business growth and operational efficiency across the enterprise, including demand management and coordinating/supporting deployment.Collaborate with both Functional and Enterprise Service delivery teams, including the Head of the Enterprise Capability to design and implement solutions that meet business needs effectively.Representing GBS in strategic planning sessions with the customer and contributing to broader organizational development initiatives.Ongoing engagement with senior engagement teams within the SET area.Work with Functionally Aligned Enterprise Leads to align on priorities and constraints for Enterprise Services.Act as an ambassador for GBS Enterprise Services as well as Functional Services and ensure alignment with overall GBS strategy.Point of escalation for critical service delivery issues for awareness.Lead and inspire a high-performing team, fostering a culture of skill development and accountability through effective people management, strategic leadership, and line management where applicable.Essential Skills/ExperienceBachelor's Degree is required.Minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience.Proven experience in a business partnering role within a shared services or GBS environment for commercial units.Strong strategic and analytical capabilities with the ability to translate business strategies into actionable plans.Demonstrated ability to lead and influence in a matrix organization, with strong stakeholder management skills.Experience in driving process improvements and managing service delivery in a complex organizational setting.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse teams.Strong commercial acumen and understanding of business operations.Ability to work effectively across cultures and geographies, fostering an inclusive and collaborative work environment.Experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.Understanding of digital and omnichannel strategies.Experience in developing and implementing GBS capabilities.Familiarity with industry best practices and benchmarks in shared service.Desirable Skills/ExperienceGBS Acumen: Comprehensive understanding of the GBS space as well as a clear understanding of the external marketplace (current & future) to shape new opportunities.
