Position: Dietary Cook
Location: Rochelle Park, New Jersey
Schedule: Full-Time | Morning Shift
Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour

Chateau Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a dependable and experienced Dietary Cook to join our Food Services team. In this role, you will prepare nutritious, high-quality meals that support the health and well-being of our residents while ensuring all dietary requirements and food safety standards are met.

• Prepare and cook meals according to approved recipes, production schedules, and resident dietary requirements.

• Review daily menus and ensure meals are prepared accurately and efficiently.

• Prepare large quantities of food while maintaining excellent taste, quality, and presentation.

• Ensure compliance with therapeutic, mechanical, and special diet orders.

• Inspect meal trays to verify residents receive the correct prescribed diets.

• Process new diet orders and dietary changes received from Nursing Services.

• Maintain accurate food production records, temperature logs, and required documentation.

• Work closely with the Registered Dietitian to implement dietary recommendations and menu modifications.

• Follow all food safety, sanitation, infection control, and HIPAA regulations.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen, equipment, and work areas.

• Assist with meal service and ensure food is delivered on schedule.

• Participate in routine inspections to maintain compliance with state and federal regulations.

• Collaborate with the Food Services team and other departments to provide exceptional resident care.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Dietary Manager or Food Service Supervisor.

• Minimum 1 year of Dietary Cook experience in a nursing home, rehabilitation center, or hospital required.

• Experience preparing meals in large quantities.

• Knowledge of therapeutic diets, food preparation techniques, sanitation practices, and food safety regulations.

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

• Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
