Medical Director

York County Community Action Corporation

Medical Director (Full-Time)Nasson Health Care is a Federally Qualified Health Center with clinical sites in Springvale and Biddeford, Maine. We serve York County and neighboring communities through provision of fully integrated medical, dental and behavioral health care.The Medical Director serves as the clinical leader for Nasson Health Care and works collaboratively with medical and administrative teams to provide comprehensive primary care using the Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) model. This role combines direct patient care with clinical leadership, quality improvement, provider oversight, and strategic planning to support the organization's mission and long-term goals.Key responsibilities include:Provide direct clinical services in accordance with the highest standards of medical practice and organizational policies.Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to manage patients with high-risk and complex conditions within an integrated care model.Ensure continuity of care through appropriate referrals, inpatient coordination, and timely follow-up after hospital discharge.Maintain current medical knowledge through continuing education and ongoing professional development.Serve as a clinical resource for physicians, Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), and other clinical staff.Lead quality improvement and quality assurance (QI/QA) initiatives in collaboration with the Director of Nasson Health Care.Participate in compliance, risk management, and financial oversight programs to support safe, high-quality, and compliant care delivery.Provide clinical oversight and mentorship for physicians and APPs.Support staff education, provider training, case reviews, and evidence-based clinical learning opportunities.Qualifications:Applicants must:Hold a medical degree from an accredited U.S. medical schoolBe Board Certified in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or PediatricsPossess an unrestricted Maine medical licenseHold a current U.S. DEA licensePreferred qualifications include:Minimum of three years of experience as a Medical Director in a primary care settingExperience with Meaningful Use-certified electronic medical record (EMR) systemsProficiency with Microsoft Office applicationsStrong understanding of: Evidence-based practiceSocial and behavioral determinants of healthPopulation health managementIntegrated medical, behavioral health, and dental careHealth information technology and Meaningful Use standardsAdditional requirements:Must not have an active exclusion record on the System for Award Management (SAM) websiteProof of immunity or vaccination for MMR, Hepatitis B, annual Influenza vaccine, and completion of the COVID-19 primary vaccine seriesBenefits:Health, dental, vision, and basic life insuranceHealth Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA)Income protection benefitsFlexible Spending Account (FSA)403(b) retirement planPaid Time Off (PTO)Paid holidaysEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)License renewal reimbursementNasson Health Care is an approved site for the National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Student Loan Repayment Program.To be considered, please submit a resume and cover letter.
