About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: MO or compact nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH, IV start required Must-Have: General Med Surg Experience Experience with Client, neurosurgery, and stroke patients preferred Patient Ratios: 1:4-5 Description: The RN will provide patient care in a Medical Surgical setting. The unit accepts neurology, neurosurgery, and stroke patients. Nurses will be involved in pre- and post-operative care for spine surgeries and craniotomies. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Travelers will float within the service line as needed. The environment is a Level 1 trauma center, providing academic healthcare. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Telemetry monitoring is conducted off-site with telemetry technicians. Special equipment includes bladder ultrasound. The RN will be responsible for various tasks, such as managing medications and monitoring vitals. Patient ages range primarily from adults in this unit. The operation hours are structured to ensure comprehensive patient care throughout shifts.
