About the Position

Job Title: Level 2 RN ICU Stepdown Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Neuromusculoskeletal Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Rotating D/E/N Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Two (2) years of experience required License: RN License (New York only) Certifications: BLS, ACLS (preferred), NIHSS Must-Have: Stepdown/PCU experience, telemetry experience, high acuity stroke and neurosurgery experience Description: The neurosurgical unit offers extraordinary opportunities to care for a diverse patient population. Work with multidisciplinary teams who specialize in brain tumors, spinal malformations, neuroendovascular, and epilepsy surgery. This is a mixed-acuity unit with both floor-level and an 8-bed high-acuity step-down unit for patients with more complex needs. Patients require hemodynamic and neurological monitoring. Ideal candidates have experience with Q1 neuro checks, EVDs, lumbar drains, subdural drains, and 3% NS. Experience with Cardene drips, arterial lines, carotid endarterectomy, aneurysm coiling/clips, DBS insertion, and VP shunts is also preferred. Candidates should be knowledgeable in seizure management. BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required. Telemetry experience is required. ACLS certification is highly desired. NIHSS certification is required.
