Responsibilities:
- Monitor, interpret, and implement evolving federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations across manufacturing operations.
- Evaluate process and product data to identify and recommend improvements in safety, environmental, and sustainability practices.
- Accurately calculate emissions and prepare required permits and regulatory reports for compliance.
- Provide Safety Data Sheets (SDS) support for products and processes throughout the organization.
- Conduct or lead safety and environmental audits of site operations, suppliers, and contractors, recommending solutions for continuous improvement.
- Lead and implement initiatives aimed at improving safety and environmental standards across site operations.
- Prepare and submit internal and external reports, including OSHA injury documentation and required federal, state, and local environmental filings.
- Collaborate cross-functionally on new or modified manufacturing processes to ensure all activities meet EH&S requirements and organizational standards.
Must-Have Skills:
- Minimum 4 years of safety and/or environmental regulatory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and environmental laws relevant to manufacturing.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze process data, perform emissions calculations, and prepare compliance documentation.
- Experience supporting Safety Data Sheet (SDS) requirements and documentation.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration and regulatory interaction.
- Demonstrated track record of ethical and legal compliance in a regulated environment.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Safety, or a related discipline.
- Advanced safety certifications highly preferred.
- Familiarity with CAD drawings to support safety and regulatory initiatives.
- Experience conducting audits of suppliers and third-party contractors.
- Knowledge of sustainability best practices in defense or advanced manufacturing settings.
- Ability to evaluate and select third-party providers for EHS services and equipment.
- Hands-on experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives within a complex manufacturing environment.
