About the Position

Job Title: Infusion Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Oncology Chemo Certified Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: 1-2 years preferred; first-timers accepted with chemo certification and 2+ years of experience. License: California license required. Certifications: BLS, Chemotherapy certification (ONS/ONCC) required. Must-Have: Chemotherapy certification is required for this position. Oncology experience is required. Description: The Infusion Registered Nurse will provide care for patients undergoing chemotherapy and other infusion therapies. This role involves administering 70% oncology-based therapy and 30% blood transfusions, IVIG, hydration, and iron infusions. The nurse will be responsible for accessing and managing ports, administering chemotherapy, and monitoring patients for side effects. Isolation precautions and neutropenic precautions will also be part of the nursing responsibilities. The Infusion RN must recognize and communicate abnormal lab values and handle cytotoxic spills safely. Strong phlebotomy skills are important for this position. Traveling nurses are expected to float between facilities when necessary. All scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of application. There are no weekend shifts required for this position, and the nurse will work on Mondays to Fridays. The nurse should be prepared to work during three of five specified holidays. All required vaccines and certifications must be up to date upon submission for consideration.
