Phlebotomist

Assists technical personnel in performing limited testing and clerical tasks. Performs all procedures under the direct supervision of a medical technologist. Performs related duties as assigned. Processes specimens received in the laboratory and prepares them for testing. Performs blood specimen collection (phlebotomy). Position Details

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Other: Skills, knowledge, and abilities: Phlebotomy experience is required. Computer skills. Organizational skills. Good communication skills. Ability to maintain accurate and orderly records. Equipment used: Standard laboratory instrumentation. Preferred education: Some college courses in science preferred. Preferred experience: Minimum of one year phlebotomy experience preferred.
