ID: 49463 Primary Purpose of the Position The Senior Functional Analyst leads efforts to analyze and define detailed specifications for business systems that map to business processes. The role serves as an expert in driving solution delivery by facilitating requirements analysis and design activities with the business to accurately determine future system requirements. The analyst ensures solutions align with the enterprise architecture blueprint, the solutions architecture, and that systems and application designs adhere to standards and policies. The role also provides team guidance and delivers complex, technical solutions to business needs. Essential Responsibilities Lead efforts to elicit future systems requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis to design and implement business solutions for complex problems. Partner with business analysts and cross‑functional business groups (e.g., Finance, HR, IT) to elicit functional and non‑functional requirements. Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and deliver functional requirements documents, use cases, GUI, screen and interface designs. Take a broad perspective to identify innovative business solutions that challenge assumptions of how business plans will be executed. Participate in defining integration between proposed development projects and existing systems, software, and hardware. Ensure that systems and application designs adhere to standards and reflect the architecture appropriately. Collaborate with other IT leads and stakeholders to align solutions with the business’s tactical and strategic plans, aligning IT goals with business needs. Research emerging technologies and recommend innovations that increase cost effectiveness, flexibility, or better support business requirements. Work closely with third‑party vendors including software providers, implementation partners, and consultants. Understand existing and anticipated application functionality, including cloud‑based offerings, that meet business demand. Assist the team with user acceptance testing requirements for existing and new application systems and modules. Partner with key strategic solutions partners for small and large‑scale engagements to help develop the vision of the technology service. Manage the configuration, setup, and maintenance of application‑related solutions. Mentor other analysts on the team by providing guidance and hands‑on problem solving. Professional & Education Qualification BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Minimum 5 years of job‑related experience in manufacturing operations, IT, or engineering; 5+ years implementing solutions for complex systems supporting business processes; 3+ years of leadership experience. Experience driving software and technology solutions in large, complex organizations. Experience leading cross‑functional teams and projects to drive business improvements. Preferred: experience in solution delivery, production support, and monitoring of information and operational technologies. Familiarity with Allen Bradley PLCs, Factory Talk, Ethernet/IP. Experience performing engineering operations for Distributed Control (DCS) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) validation, commissioning, acceptance testing, risk assessments, and upgrades; Dassault DELMIA Apriso for MES is a plus. Experience with Inductive Automation Ignition is a plus. Experience with manufacturing network security protocols, GMP, ISA‑95 models; preferred exposure to Device Net, Control Net, Ethernet, Sercos, DH+, and RIO communication protocols. Preferred: experience in service provision and troubleshooting of manufacturing support hardware and software systems; Markem‑Imaje and Keyence products are a plus. SCADA systems experience is preferred. Experience in driving process and technology re‑engineering using industry practices such as Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen, COBIT, ITIL, CMMi. Skills Flexibility around project changes and dynamic risk mitigation with mid‑course corrective action. Strong analytical and product management skills; ability to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple, complex projects simultaneously. Effective management of customer expectations regarding scope, schedule, and budgetary parameters. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong estimation skills and proven project planning and management skills. Analytical ability to interpret data and make recommendations. Good presentation skills with the ability to convey technical issues to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. Technical development experience and knowledge of associated tools and software development lifecycle. Up to 25% travel required. Knowledge In‑depth technical knowledge and strong development skills in relevant technology. Understanding of software quality principles, including test methodologies. Business process knowledge preferred (e.g., Plan‑to‑Produce process, manufacturing execution systems). Expertise in various software development methodologies (XP, iterative) and the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC). Expected hiring salary range: $85,900 – $119,890. Role eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan. Hybrid on‑site work environment: based in Colorado, requiring in‑person engagement for three or more days per week with core collaboration days of Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
