Supervisor Fiber Splicing

Job Description

Located in the surrounding areas of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, a successful Fiber Splicing Supervisor shall be responsible for coordinating and managing field operations for Fiber-To-The-Home (FTTH) OSP Fiber Construction. Supervise, inspect, and monitor all work in conformance with the company, local and federal standards, and specifications. At a minimum, the position requires a good working knowledge of Fiber Telecommunications Construction, familiarity with splicing equipment, and knowledge of management reporting fundamentals.

• Manage in-house and subcontracted resources performing OSP fiber plant work
\n
• Supervise, develop, and provide leadership to employees of assigned departments or projects.
\n
• Oversee all onsite and offsite fiber construction to monitor compliance and safety regulations
\n
• Accurately forecast resource requirements based on completion deadlines
\n
• Ensure quality construction standards while using proper construction techniques
\n
• Communicate effectively with customers to inform them of project progress, issues ad projected completion dates.
\n
• Review tasks and reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
\n
• Develop a strong working relationship with managers to maximize new opportunities for revenue
\n
• Conduct pre-construction meetings
\n
• Additional Duties as assigned.

IND1

\n
• 3+ of experience in the fiber / telecommunications / telecom construction industry
\n
• Supervision of construction and/or splicing crews, familiarity with instruments used to splice, test and/or run trouble on outside plant fiber cabling, and knowledge of management reporting fundamentals
\n
• Project management skills include planning, organizing, and coordinating tasks
\n
• Strong Microsoft Office computer skills
\n
• Able to multitask and prioritize.
\n
• High school diploma or equivalent
\n
• Must have a valid unrestricted driver's license of at least 2 years.
\n
• Must pass a background check, drug test, and motor vehicle check.
\n
• Authorized to work in the United States
