Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 Years License: Active RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Active RN License ACLS Certification BLS Certification ICU Experience Description: This position involves providing care for critically ill patients in an intensive care unit. The unit has a total of 16 beds. Patient ratios are typically 2:1, with occasional 1:1 or 3:1 assignments based on acuity and staffing needs. A unit secretary is available during the day shift to assist with administrative tasks. There may be an occasional nurse extern working as a tech. Required equipment includes ventilators, EVDs, CRRT, SLED, and EV 1000. Documentation is performed using a specified electronic system. Scheduling is done in 4-week increments with a minimum of 4 weekend shifts required per schedule. Self-scheduling is allowed to some extent, with management balancing shifts as necessary. Contract labor may be expected to float to other areas of the facility as needed. Candidates are expected to provide compassionate and attentive care to patients and their families. Advanced skills required for this role include the insertion of central lines, arterial lines, lumbar punctures, chest tubes, and EVDs. The dress code consists of navy scrubs, both tops and bottoms.
