Recovery Support Peer Specialist – (JPS PATH Program) Fort Worth, Tx Position Summary The Recovery Support Peer Specialist (RSPS) provides peer-based recovery support services to individuals referred through the JPS Prevention, Access, Treatment, and Healing (PATH) Program. Using lived experience and a person-centered, trauma-informed approach, the RSPS helps individuals engage in healthcare, recovery, and supportive services while addressing barriers related to substance use, mental health, housing instability, and other social needs. Skills / Competencies Strong understanding of recovery principles, substance use disorders, and mental health Knowledge of community resources and healthcare navigation Ability to build rapport and engage individuals with complex needs Effective communication and documentation skills Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team Strong organizational and time-management skills Trauma-informed and strengths-based approach to service delivery Responsibilities Provide peer recovery coaching, mentoring, and support to PATH participants Conduct outreach, engagement, follow-up, and care navigation services Connect participants to healthcare, behavioral health, housing, transportation, and community resources Support participants in developing recovery goals and strengthening recovery support networks Coordinate services with JPS PATH staff and community partners Maintain timely and accurate documentation and data entry Participate in required meetings, trainings, and supervision Adhere to agency policies, ethical standards, and confidentiality requirements Conduct community-based outreach and follow-up activities as needed Qualifications Certified Recovery Support Peer Specialist (RSPS) in Texas, or eligible and willing to obtain certification within the first year of employment High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred Experience in recovery support, substance use, behavioral health, or related human services preferred Knowledge of substance use disorders, recovery pathways, and community resources Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current automobile insurance required Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed Equal Opportunity Employer:RecoveryResourceCouncilcomplieswithapplicableFederalcivilrightslawsanddoesnotdiscriminateonthebasis ofrace, color, national origin, age, disability, or sex (including pregnancy, sexual orientation, and gender identity).
