Senior IT Project Manager

Job Title

Responsibility - % of time spent

1 - Leads one or multiple projects and spearheads design, development, and implementation of project. Fluent with project planning tools like MS projects and manages projects based on well thought out work breakdown structure. Fluent with Agile Project Management and has lead Agile projects. Works to determine the required tasks and resources (process, functional, etc) for complex projects spanning multiple business units. Develops, communicates and oversees detailed project plans. Ensure methodology compliance - auditing, phase gates/tollgates and tracking ongoing projects, using the agreed tools, at regular intervals to ensure projects are on course and follow the approved methodology. Prepares regular insightful reports and communications to stakeholders on project status, schedule and costs. Oversees the progress of one or multiple projects to ensure that stakeholder, sponsor, and/or client expectations are being met. Identifies, manages and escalates issues and risks as appropriate. May manage onshore and offshore teams throughout the project. - 60%

2 - Manages one or multiple project teams and work with Senior IT management to agree on yearly timelines. Determines team member responsibilities and holds individuals accountable. Mentor and coaches project managers and project teams. - 25%

3 - Works closely with stakeholders, sponsors, and clients providing direction to project definition. Makes project recommendations based on business value. Participate in code reviews with internal or offshore team - 15%

Experience - Minimum 10 -12 years' experience in information technology 8+ years project management experience required. Hands on Development experience is in the past is a must. Hands on Agile experience in managing Agile teams. Leadership experience is mandatory. Previous Insurance Industry experience a plus.

Knowledge and skills (general and technical) - High level experience in design – creating, updating and maintaining processes. Demonstrated analytic and design capabilities. Demonstrated some experience in C#, C++, ASP.NET, PL/SQL, JAVA, Client-Side JavaScript, or HTML. Experience with XML, Web Services is a plus. Experience with database is a plus. Knowledge of Service Oriented Architectures (SOA) a plus. Strong project planning and management skill is a must.

Other requirements (licenses, certifications, specialized training) - PMP certification is preferred. SCRUM or equivalent Agile certification is a plus.
