About the Role
The Company is seeking an Associate Vice Chancellor of Graduate Studies to provide strategic, university-wide leadership in the advancement of graduate education. The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping and implementing institutional strategies to enhance the quality, competitiveness, and impact of graduate programs, as well as the success of graduate students. This role involves leading the development, review, and innovation of graduate programs, fostering interdisciplinary education, and ensuring the integration of graduate education with the company's research and academic priorities. The Associate Vice Chancellor will also be a senior advisor on emerging opportunities and challenges in graduate education and will work to translate institutional priorities into effective policies and practices. Applicants must have an earned doctorate and a minimum of 8 years' experience in graduate education leadership. The role requires a deep understanding of graduate education policy, faculty-led academic cultures, and the ability to lead through influence in a decentralized university environment. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of collaboration, communication, and consensus building, as well as experience in strategic leadership for graduate enrollment, student success, and funding. Preferred qualifications include experience in a public R1 or urban research university and familiarity with best practices in graduate education. The position demands a commitment to faculty shared governance, the ability to balance consistency with flexibility, and a skill in translating recommendations into sustainable operations.
