Position: Neurologist – General (Outpatient Only)
Location: Dothan, Alabama

This opportunity is with a respected, community-based academic health system serving Southeast Alabama, Southwest Georgia, and the Florida Panhandle. This is region’s largest not-for-profit hospital and an extensive primary care and specialty clinic network.

The organization welcomes both experienced neurologists and graduating residents (2026 and 2027). J-1 waiver support and H-1B visa sponsorship are available for qualified candidates.

The system includes a large regional medical center, a physician group, a foundation, and affiliations with a college of osteopathic medicine, supporting residency programs in internal medicine, transitional year, and pharmacy. The flagship medical center is a 420-bed regional referral hub serving over 460,000 residents. It is recognized as a Comprehensive Stroke Center, Level II Trauma Center, and Chest Pain Center, and also operates the region’s only Level III NICU and inpatient pediatric unit.

With a medical staff of over 200 physicians across nearly every specialty, the organization fosters a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. Ongoing expansion efforts, including significant facility growth, reflect its continued investment in advanced care delivery and innovation.

The facility is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible General Neurologist to join its growing outpatient neurology practice in Dothan, Alabama.

This is a 100% outpatient opportunity offering a predictable Monday–Friday schedule with no inpatient responsibilities. The neurologist will focus on diagnosing and managing a broad range of neurological conditions in a well-supported clinic environment.

Physicians benefit from strong referral networks, access to advanced diagnostics, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, including stroke specialists and other subspecialties.

The group is open to 2026 Neurology residents as well as experienced neurologists.

• Provide comprehensive outpatient neurological care to adult patients
• Diagnose and manage conditions such as headaches, epilepsy, stroke follow-up, neuropathy, multiple sclerosis, and movement disorders
• Conduct neurological examinations and develop individualized treatment plans
• Order and interpret diagnostic studies including MRI, CT scans, EEG, and EMG (as applicable)
• Collaborate with primary care providers and specialists for coordinated patient care
• Provide patient education and long-term disease management
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical best practices

Education

• M.D. or D.O. from an accredited medical school
• Completion of a Neurology residency

Licensure & Certification

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology
• Eligible for or holding an active Alabama medical license
• Current BLS/ACLS preferred
