Looking for a change of scenery and a chance to help others. Join a hospital in Tucson, AZ as a traveling Physical Therapist where you will help patients recover from injuries and manage chronic conditions while experiencing life in a new location. The role involves comprehensive patient evaluation, development and implementation of individualized treatment plans, interdisciplinary collaboration to address barriers to discharge, timely and accurate documentation, and participation in professional development and student supervision. You will follow hospital policies, maintain professional licensure, and support patient and employee safety initiatives.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program approved by the APTA.
• Active Physical Therapy state license valid for practice in AZ is required to start the assignment.
• Current BLS certification from AHA or ARC may be required.
• Experience performing comprehensive evaluations, writing functional goals, and developing treatment plans in an acute hospital or inpatient setting.
• Experience documenting in electronic medical records including daily notes, discharge summaries, and letters of medical necessity.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate discharge planning and equipment needs.
• Ability to manage individual, concurrent, and group treatment sessions efficiently.
• Uphold professional standards and comply with state practice act and facility policies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in acute care or rehabilitation hospital environments is preferred.
• Experience supervising or precepting physical therapy students is preferred.
• Familiarity with safe patient handling techniques and materials handling protocols is preferred.

Assignment Details

• Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday.
• Shift pattern: 5x8.

Impacting Patient Care

You will join an interdisciplinary team focused on safe, effective, patient-centered care. Duties include comprehensive evaluations, progression toward discharge within expected lengths of stay, patient and family education including home exercise programs, timely equipment trials and ordering, and accurate billing documentation. You are expected to maintain competencies required for the population served and to pursue continuing education to support clinical growth.
