Find your future with us.The Boeing Company is looking for a Mechanical Parts Engineer (Bearings & Bushings) to join the Mechanical Parts team in Huntington Beach, CA.This position is for a bearings, lubricants, and/or materials tribologist engineer who shares a passion for hands-on lab testing and materials engineering with a mindset for supporting production, drawing reviews, failure investigation, root cause solutions, and research and development testing. Job role will consist of custodianship, research & development testing, requirements & engineering drawing reviews, and writing test plans & reports. Excellent communication skills and professionalism are of importance, as you will communicate across Boeing teams and to our external customers. Position Responsibilities:Assists with definition of requirements for tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes used in the engineering design, manufacture and/or maintenance of Boeing productsReviews of engineering drawings for fleet maintenance and design to ensure quality of our aircraftsDrafts engineering specifications and other documents to manage the deployment of tools, equipment, materials, parts and processesConducts and supports R&D testing in lab environment to meet programs requirements and qualifications of productsAssists in evaluation of emerging technologies for potential application to business needsConducts routine analysis to determine performance or reasons for failures of tools, materials, parts or processesAssists in failure analysis strategies while implementing corrective and preventive actionsUses project management tools to plan and implement project costs & schedule, technical requirements, and produce productsWorks under general directionBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience): Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering; (Chemical, Aerospace, or Mechanical is preferred.)3+ years of experience with manufacturing processes for fasteners and/or bearings2+ years of experience with material testing, writing test plans, conducting tests, and writing test reports2+ years of experience in engineering test support within a test lab environmentPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Experience in reading and understanding part standards and process specificationsHas Strong self project management skills & software knowledge (excel, Microsoft project, milestones, etc)Works directly with suppliers to improve engineering practices, solve issues, and recommend areas of improvementAbility to understand and draft engineering drawings and requirementsExperience in the design, testing, and failures of bushings and bearings.Travel:20%Drug Free Workplace:Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace (DFW) where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.Pay & Benefits:At Boeing, we strive to deliver a Total Rewards package that will attract, engage and retain the top talent.
