Role Description This full-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner role is a hybrid position based in Grand Rapids, MI, with a combination of on-site and work-from-home responsibilities. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnose mental health conditions, and develop individualized treatment plans. Daily responsibilities include prescribing and managing psychotropic medications, monitoring treatment response, and providing supportive and psychoeducational interventions. The role involves coordinating care with therapists, primary care providers, and community resources, as well as maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation in the electronic health record. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will also participate in case consultations, contribute to quality improvement initiatives, and support mental health education efforts within partner organizations. Qualifications Demonstrated expertise in Mental Health Nursing and Nursing within outpatient or community-based settings. Advanced practice experience as a Nurse Practitioner, preferably as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). Proficiency in Mental Health Care, including assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment planning. Strong skills in Psychiatric Care, including psychopharmacology, risk assessment, and crisis management. Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) and Nurse Practitioner (NP) licenses in Michigan, with prescriptive authority or eligibility. Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing or related advanced practice field from an accredited program. Excellent communication skills, cultural humility, and the ability to build therapeutic alliances with diverse populations. Comfort with electronic health records, telehealth platforms, and working in a hybrid (on-site/remote) model. Experience in integrated care, collaborative care models, or working with schools, employers, or community organizations is a plus.
