FSP Associate Scientist

Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks an Associate Scientist to support protein purification process development and manufacturing at a pharmaceutical client site in Wilmington, Delaware. The role involves conducting chromatography, performing analytical testing, and documenting laboratory work while maintaining full-time benefits.
Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and scale purification processes for protein manufacturing
- Conduct protein purification experiments to support formulation and cell culture teams
- Perform routine analytical testing on in-process samples using standard laboratory methods
- Prepare buffers and solutions required for laboratory operations
- Document work in electronic laboratory notebook and present summaries to team
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, biological sciences, or related field
- Basic knowledge of protein chemistry and bioprocessing fundamentals
- Hands-on or basic experience with column and membrane chromatography techniques
- Preferred experience with protein analysis methods including HPLC, ELISA, and concentration testing
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Organized, collaborative, independent, and detail-oriented work approach
