As a Workday Functional Analyst, you will serve as the primary technical configurator of the Workday platform, translating requirements and specifications provided by functional subject matter experts (SMEs) into system configurations, integrations, and business process workflows. You will partner closely with HR, Finance, Payroll, and other business stakeholders to configure and optimize Workday modules that support their defined processes. Your expertise will be crucial in translating business process requirements defined by SMEs into Workday configurations, managing system modifications, maintaining high data quality standards, and optimizing the platform for Christman. Additionally, you will serve as a key liaison between internal teams and external vendors, supporting the deployment of new features and system enhancements throughout the development and integration lifecycle.What You Will Do:Workday Configuration & OptimizationConfigure and enhance Workday modules (HCM, Compensation, Payroll, Benefits, Financials) based on business requirementsTranslate stakeholder needs into scalable workflows, configurations, and data structuresSupport security design, data governance, and system integrity through audits and analysisDevelop and maintain reports, dashboards, and documentationAdvise on integration design, including feasibility, risks, and system impactsSystem Lifecycle & Stakeholder PartnershipPartner with SMEs and business leaders across HR, Finance, Payroll, and IT throughout the full system lifecycleAct as a technical liaison between internal teams and external vendorsSupport system releases, enhancements, and ongoing optimizationEvaluate and recommend improvements to system functionalityMaintain accurate and up-to-date system documentationIntegrations & Technical SupportBuild and support Workday integrations using Studio, EIBs, Core Connectors, APIs, and Web ServicesTroubleshoot integration issues and provide ongoing system support (break/fix, monitoring, incident management)Translate functional requirements into technical solutions and specificationsSupport testing efforts (unit and integration) and ensure solutions perform as designedAnalyze system updates and recommend improvements to reporting and integrationsAdditional ContributionsCommunicate complex technical concepts in a clear, user-friendly waySupport project planning, risk mitigation, and implementation effortsDesign and maintain ETL processes and data flowsOptimize system performance using knowledge of data architecture, interfaces, and databasesAssess downstream impacts of system changes and integrationsWhat You Bring to the TableMinimum RequirementsBachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software, Engineering, Business Administration or related disciplines(3) to five (5) years’ experience as a Workday Functional Analyst or similar Workday configuration role, with a strong understanding of human resources, finance, and payroll processes and business requirementsDeep technical expertise in Workday integrations and business processesStrong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutionsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team environmentExperience in project management and strategic planningOR equivalent combination of the above education, training, and experiencePreferred Education and Experience Workday CertifiedFamiliarity with compliance and best practices in Workday data securityAdditional Eligibility Qualifications Ability to rapidly assimilate new technologies and be able to communicate effectively with various teamsExcellent interpersonal skills including analytical, problem solving, organizational, and issue resolutionAbility to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including human resources, finance, payroll. and IT, to solve business problemsStrong in both written and verbal communicationMotivated, committed, and energetic self-starter dedicated to providing high quality and responsive IT serviceAbility to maintain confidentialityAbility to organize and prioritize daily workload and meet timelines on deliverables TravelThis position reports to the Lansing corporate headquarters. Minimal travel outside of Lansing required, depending on the project, travel to other areas may be required. Majority of travel done during work hours; overnight stays may be required on an as-needed basis.
