Medical Transcriptionist I - White Plains, NY, On-CallResponsible for transcribing specialty dictation from all members of the medical/clinical staff via recorded dictation and sorts/files copies of transcribed reports. Performs other clerical duties as required.Pay range: $22.48 - $33.72 / hourSalary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.Benefits information:Quest Diagnostics provides employees the opportunity to invest in the future through a 401(k) Plan with eligibility for all employees after one month, and after one year, a fully vested company match up to 5% of pay.On-call employees are eligible for:401(k) pre-tax and/or Roth IRA with company match up to 5% after 12 months of serviceResponsibilitiesPrimarily responsible for transcribing gross description and may transcribe microscopic diagnosis and other clinical information into LISMake corrections/edits to reports, as per Pathologist instructionsProvide verbally, STAT and malignant results to clients, as applicableObtain patient clinical history, as applicableMay participate in the training of new staff membersPrepare outside consultation cases for send-out to the client, as applicableMaintain Send-out/Consultation log, as applicableMay select pathologist QC cases (PASR)May assign CPT codes, once required training is completed and documentedIdentify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either correct problem or immediately notify general supervisor, technical supervisor or directorUnderstand and follow all applicable standard operating procedures for job-related responsibilities, to include Pathologist Electronic Signature Guidelines SOPAll other duties as assignedQualificationsPreferred Work Experience:0-3 years transcription experiencePhysical and Mental Requirements:The normal performance of duties may require lifting and carrying objects: Objects 1 to 10 pounds are lifted and carried frequently; objects 11 to 25 pounds are lifted and carried occasionally; objects 36 to 50 pounds are seldom lifted or carried and objects over 50 pounds are not to be lifted or carried without assistance.Ability to stand and work at the bench for long periods of time.Frequent walking and/or standing.Knowledge:Knowledge of Medical TerminologySkills:Strong Data Entry skillsGood clerical, organizational, phone and communication skillsEducationHigh School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)About the TeamQuest Diagnostics honors our service members and encourages veterans to apply.
