At Absolut Care of Allegany, we are seeking a compassionate and experienced Food Service Director to lead our food service department in providing exceptional dining experiences to our residents. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality of food and service, while exceeding the expectations of our residents and their families.

About the Role:

As the Food Service Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our food service department, including meal planning, food preparation, and service. Your primary focus will be on providing exceptional customer service, ensuring that our residents receive high-quality, nutritious meals that meet their individual needs and preferences. Ideal candidate must have long term care experience and well as experience with preparing a variety of diet consistencies.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement menu plans that cater to the unique dietary needs and preferences of our residents

• Oversee the preparation and service of meals, ensuring that all food is prepared and presented to the highest standards

• Manage the food service budget, ensuring that expenses are kept within budgetary guidelines

• Supervise and train food service staff, including cooks, servers, and dietary aides

• Develop and maintain relationships with local suppliers to source high-quality ingredients and materials

• Ensure that all food service operations are in accordance with regulations and standards set by healthcare organizations and government agencies

• Collaborate with our Dietary Department to ensure that our residents receive the meals they need to thrive

Requirements:

• Food Service Director experience in a skilled long term care facility.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in a related field (e.g., hospitality, culinary arts) preferred

• Ability to prepare and educate staff on a variety of diets and consistencies.

• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to supervise and train food service staff

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, and other healthcare professionals

• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods
