Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electro-Mechanical Technician to join our dynamic manufacturing team. This role involves bridging the gap between engineering design and manufacturing execution for complex electromechanical systems, while also mentoring junior technicians and assemblers to ensure precision, quality, and safety at every stage. Your expertise will contribute to the production of high-quality electronic and mechanical products, supporting our commitment to innovation and excellence.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the quality of all tasks performed.
• Demonstrate good soldering skills for both Non-RoHS and RoHS components and assemblies.
• Utilize high-precision soldering irons and hot-air stations to remove and replace SMT and through-hole components.
• Follow work instructions in an FDA compliant manufacturing environment.
• Utilize standard hand tools and computer access proficiently.
• Maintain accurate records in accordance with Good Documentation Practices.
• Mentor junior technicians and provide leadership, technical training skills, and small team production delegation.
• Audit and verify assembly kits in both Just-in-Time (JIT) and batch production environments.
• Communicate effectively with strong written and verbal skills.
• Investigate and log failure information related to electro-mechanical assemblies, including probable root causes and rework instructions.
• Support and perform rework activities related to deviations, RMAs, and NCMRs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, R&D, and Customer Program Managers.
• Provide operations with demand capacity to meet output requirements.
• Enter production data and documentation into the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system (Arena).
• Utilize common software tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and related applications.
• Be flexible and willing to learn how to manufacture multiple product lines/customer builds and train assemblers and junior technicians.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in schematic reading, hand tools, electronic assembly, and mechanical assembly.
• Advanced soldering skills (RoHS & Non-RoHS).
• Knowledge of electro-mechanical assembly and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of manufacturing compliance and documentation (FDA/GDP/ISO).
• Leadership and technical training capabilities.
• Experience in quality control and process verification.
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and support production.
• Use of micrometers and wiring skills.
• Competency in electronics and mechanical assembly.
• Process improvement and manufacturing engineering expertise.
• Familiarity with Six Sigma and process development.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Electronics courses.
• Familiarity with analog and digital circuits.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electro-mechanical assembly and troubleshooting in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong attention to detail, particularly in maintaining compliance with Good Documentation Practice.
• Experience working within ISO-regulated environments is preferred but not required.

Work Environment

Join a small team of 10-14 members in a smaller manufacturing setting, where collaboration and innovation are encouraged.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Redwood City, CA.

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
