Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg

Registered Nurse – Med/Surg Trauma

Schedule: 12 Hour Shifts, 36 hours guaranteed per week. Every other weekend rotation.

Assignment Details: Length of contract is 26 weeks, with a preference for longer contracts (26-51 weeks). Compliant with required total hours for length of stay.

Requirements:

• Current AHA BLS certification required at time of submission.
• Must possess a valid KS or multistate nursing license, no hits allowed.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Med/Surg setting required.
• Experience with Epic charting system preferred; test out option available.
• ADN or BSN degree required.

Responsibilities:

• Provide patient-centered care to post-surgical patients, including those recovering from trauma, neurosurgery, and orthopedic surgeries.
• Monitor and assess patients' conditions and respond appropriately to changes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Document care and patient progress accurately in the electronic health record.
• Participate in the orientation and education of new staff and students.

Compliance / Notes:

RTO Policy: Max of 10 RTO days for a 26 week+ contract; max of 5 RTO days for contracts less than 26 weeks. HCP may request 1 holiday off. Orientation dates include: 10/05/2026, 10/19/2026, 11/02/2026, 11/16/2026, and 11/30/2026. Compliance due date is two Thursdays prior to the start date. Float requirements apply to other post-surgical floors and med-surg inpatient floors.
