About this role:

The Production Manager leads the daily execution of the manufacturing plan for an assigned value stream. This role is accountable for running multiple production lines safely and efficiently, delivering on daily output, quality and cost targets while developing supervisors and the front-line workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Leadership

• Lead multiple manufacturing value streams to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.

• Drive daily execution of the production plan while ensuring adherence to quality and customer requirements.

• Establish clear operational priorities and accountability throughout all levels of the organization.

• Develop and execute short- and long-term operational strategies aligned with site and business objectives.

• Ensure effective escalation and resolution of production, quality, staffing, equipment, and material constraints.

Safety Leadership

• Champion a strong culture of safety and environmental compliance.

• Ensure all EH&S policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements are followed.

• Lead incident investigations and corrective actions to eliminate repeat occurrences.

• Drive proactive risk identification and hazard mitigation activities.

Quality Excellence

• Partner with Quality leadership to improve first-pass yield, reduce defects, and eliminate customer escapes.

• Lead containment, corrective action, and root cause problem-solving activities.

• Ensure standard work, layered audits, and process controls are consistently followed.

• Promote a culture of quality ownership throughout the operation.

Delivery & Productivity

• Drive schedule attainment, throughput, labor efficiency, and customer delivery performance.

• Manage staffing strategies to support changing customer demand.

• Improve manufacturing flow through line balancing, capacity analysis, bottleneck reduction, and waste elimination.

• Collaborate with Materials, Planning, and Logistics teams to ensure uninterrupted production.

Cost & Continuous Improvement

• Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives utilizing Kaizen, A3, standard work, visual management, and problem-solving methodologies.

• Identify and execute cost reduction opportunities across labor, overhead, material usage, and productivity.

• Drive operational improvements through digital manufacturing tools, automation, and data analytics.

• Support capital investment and facility optimization initiatives.

Leadership & Talent Development

• Lead, coach, and develop Operations Managers, Supervisors, and emerging leaders.

• Build a high-performance culture centered on accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence.

• Conduct performance evaluations, succession planning, and leadership development activities.

• Foster employee engagement and reinforce Carrier leadership behaviors.

Business & Strategy

• Participate in annual operating plans, workforce planning, and capacity planning.

• Support product launches, volume increases, and strategic business initiatives.

• Utilize operational metrics and data to drive decision-making and prioritize resources.

• Serve as a key member of the site leadership team.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree

• 8+ years of manufacturing experience, including 2+ years directly managing production supervisors and hourly teams.

• 2+ years of experience delivering daily build plans while meeting EH&S, quality, delivery and cost KPIs.

• 2+ years of experience with Lean Manufacturing, standard work, 5S and layered process audits.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management or a related field.

• Experience in high-growth or fast-paced manufacturing environments.

• Experience with structured problem-solving (8D, root-cause analysis) on the production floor.

• Demonstrated ability to lead large hourly workforces across multiple shifts.

• Strong knowledge of production KPIs (OEE, labor efficiency, throughput, cost-per-unit).

• HVAC industry experience.

• Lean / Six Sigma certification.

• Experience leading multi-shift operations.

Pay Range

The annual salary for this position is between $117,500.00 - $234,500.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate. The pay range will not be below the minimum wage applicable to the jurisdiction in which the applicant is to be employed.

Other Compensation

This position is entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
