Registered Nurse - NICU

Job Description

Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse in the NICU provides specialized nursing care to premature and critically ill newborns. They ensure clinical excellence by adhering to established standards and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor neonatal patients to identify their healthcare needs.
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed.
• Maintain accurate patient records using data entry and retrieval systems.
• Lead performance improvement initiatives and participate in research activities.
• Demonstrate leadership skills and core competencies tailored to the neonatal patient population.
• Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid New York State Registered Professional Nurse license and current registration or permit.
• Possess Level III or higher NICU experience.
• Preferably hold a BSN degree.
• Complete Basic Life Support and Infection Control training.
• Demonstrate effective written and oral English communication skills.
• Certification in a relevant specialty is a plus.
