Bilingual Program Associate II - Family and Community Engagement Position Title: Bilingual Program Associate II, Family and Community Engagement Location: Office of Family and Community Engagement Reports to: Chief External Engagement Officer Bargaining Unit: OSAS Benefits Eligible: Yes In accordance withthe Agreement between the Organization of School Administrators and supervisors and the Detroit Public School Community District the following vacancy is announced: Position Summary: The Program Associate will be responsible for a portfolio of schools representing our heavily bilingual communities establishing FACE programs and supporting other compliance expectations related to Title I. Leveraging and ensuring our bilingual families are equally able to access parent program and opportunities, this associate will work with the bilingual department and others to maximize our services to families. The program associate will directly support school-based parent outreach coordinators to play a key role in programming and promotion of parent opportunities at each local school through Parent Academy. The program associate will be expected tolearnthe program models to ensure oversight and implementation with fidelity whileleveragingtranslation resources as required toeliminateparticipation barriers. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree (or five (5) years of school and community organizing experience directly engaging stakeholders especially parents and students with Title I funded programs may be considered in lieu of aBachelor'sdegree). Candidates mustpossessa minimum of (3) years of experience in an administrative position in parent and family engagement. Knowledge of ESEA/ESSA as it relates to Title I Parent/Family/School Involvement. Speak multiple languages, preferably Spanish and others representative of Detroit's diverse populations. Experience with parent leadership, school communities and city wide parental and community involvement events, activities, conferences and developing training and workshops. Experience with working with all communities (such as Hmong, Arabic Hispanic and/or Bengali), in the implementation of parental professional development programs, customer service and parent/community organizing. Demonstrate an understandingof andthe value of parent engagement in the education of children in Detroit Public Schools Community District. Must have strong communications and excellent interpersonal skills including a professional, parent/community-oriented demeanor, excellent knowledge of grammar and business correspondence. Essential Functions: Leverage translation and other language support resources internally and externally to maximize parent engagement across our bilingual communities. Assist with the School Parent Outreach Coordinators districtwide. Growth and implementation of Parent Teacher Home Visit. Recruit and engage teachers, parents, and other caregivers in PTHVP including data collection. Oversee and support up to 15 schools toestablishFACE programs. Assistin the development, promotion, and execution of parentacademyin assigned schools. Support the establishment and growth of a parent organization. Based on 2026-2027parent organization data, increase parent involvement by 20%. Develop a strong working relationship with thePrincipal, parentleadersand other stakeholders within the school community. Promote FACE initiatives asappropriate acrossschool sites and secure target sites for participation. Manage the successful implementation of FACE programs within schools. Proactivelyidentifyand solve issues evolving across schools. Assistin required Title 1 Meetings, Parent Involvement Policy. Fulfill other duties as assigned by theChief External Engagement Officer, or designee.
