The Opportunity We’re hiring a Senior Software Engineer to own the implementation, inventory, monitoring, and performance of every third‑party integration that touches our web properties: conversion pixels, trackers, first‑ and third‑party analytics, ABM, APIs, cAPIs, cookie consent banners, and other emerging requirements. This is not a migration or a zero‑to‑one build. You’ll take over a well‑maintained system, refine the controls, tune performance, and work through a backlog of challenging projects. What You’ll Do About 90% of your time will focus on third‑party integrations: implementing them, inventorying, tracking, monitoring uptime and data integrity, and optimizing performance to keep the business informed about campaign effectiveness. The remaining 10% involves working across our stack—AWS, Cloudflare Workers, React/Next.js, WordPress, Zendesk, Discourse, and more—using JavaScript, TypeScript, PHP, JSON, and YAML as needed. You’ll navigate varied platforms, delivering solutions that can change from day to day. You’ll collaborate with Leadership, Legal, Marketing Engineering, and third‑party vendors, balancing speed, compliance, quality, and performance. About You You thrive in ambiguity, dive into complex ecosystems, and can start contributing quickly on a functioning system. You communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders, make sound judgment calls under competing priorities, and remain composed when work gets fast or messy. You work well as a specialist in a six‑engineer team, handling solo adventures and collaborating when broader effort is needed. Must Haves Based in or near San Francisco—5 days a week in‑office at 1 Market St., non‑negotiable. Strong working experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and Next.js (or an equivalent frontend framework). Hands‑on experience implementing third‑party APIs, pixels, beacons/trackers, and scripts. Experience monitoring third‑party implementations for uptime and data integrity. Effective communication with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders, making informed judgment calls and adapting quickly. Solid understanding of ad‑/content blockers, Pi‑holes, browser quirks, and related impacts. Strong investigative and debugging skills, with patience to dig through logs, network traces, and vendor documentation. Nice to Haves Experience with GDPR and related regulations, including cookie compliance and consent banners. Building dashboards and reporting on top of monitoring for third‑party trackers. Experience using AI tools for coding, testing, evaluation, and research, especially in legacy codebases. A/B testing experience with LaunchDarkly or similar. Familiarity with Sentry, Transcend, common martech pixels, LaunchDarkly, AWS Lambda, Cloudflare Workers, Marketo, Qualified, and related tools. The reasonably estimated base salary for this role ranges from $180,000 to $220,000, plus a competitive equity package. Actual compensation is based on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. What Else?
