Job Description

Vivo HealthStaff is seeking a highly qualified and motivated MD/JD Attorney who is a previously practicing physician and licensed lawyer to join the Healthcare Practice Group of a nationally recognized law firm. This role focuses on advising healthcare clients on billing, reimbursement compliance, regulatory matters, and fraud and abuse laws.\n

\nDetails:\n

\n• Provide legal counsel on Medicare, Medicaid, and VA/Tricare reimbursement requirements\n
\n• Advise clients on fraud and abuse compliance, including structuring transactions consistent with Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, and False Claims Act regulations\n
\n• Assist healthcare providers with enrollment, claims submission, and billing compliance issues\n
\n• Offer strategic guidance on business relationships and transactions involving hospitals, physician groups, academic medical centers, skilled nursing facilities, and home health agencies\n
\n• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to address complex healthcare regulatory and compliance challenges\n
\n
\nCandidate Profile:\n
\n
\n• MD and JD degrees with active bar admission in the applicable state\n
\n• Previously practiced as a licensed physician\n
\n• 10+ years of experience advising healthcare clients or engaging in policymaking related to billing and reimbursement including Medicare, Medicaid, and VA/Tricare\n
\n• Deep expertise in federal fraud and abuse laws such as Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, and False Claims Act\n
\n• Proven experience structuring business relationships to ensure regulatory compliance\n
\n• Experience with private payors is a plus\n
\n
