Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Serving as the Benefits & Comp Administrator and as part of the Corporate HR department s/he will be responsible for a wide range of HR transactional and operational functions.

• Work in concert with Benefits & Comp Manager in coordinating new employee, status change and open enrollment benefit orientations. Including creating communication materials such as guides, recording new hire & open enrollment presentations, etc.
• Assist with communications and education to employees about benefit programs. Address employee questions and concerns and needed clarification.
• Assist with acquired company employee benefit enrollment and questions for smooth transition
• May assist Benefits & Comp Manager with the roll out of new benefit programs, plans, employee education meetings and feedback surveys.
• Administer various employee benefit programs, such as group medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances and 401(k). Monitor employee benefit eligibility and process enrollments and changes.
• Build strong relationship with carrier contacts and broker partners
• Ensure benefits compliance with all appropriate federal, state and local laws
• Assist with leave management process for all employees (FMLA, Personal, Military, Disability)
• Work in concert with Benefits & Comp Manager on plan audits, compliance testing, required filings and communications
• Prepare monthly Health & Welfare Insurance invoices, including accounting allocation, for review and approval.
• Handle administration of 401(k) plan including compliance, employee education, hardship withdrawal requests and loan questions
• Provide assistance to Benefits & Comp Manager with compensation market research in developing wage matrix program.
• Work in concert with Benefits & Comp Manager and HRMS Manager on revisions to Employee Self-service pages content.
• Create and maintain benefit and comp process documentation
• Other responsibilities and tasks as needed within the Benefits & Compensation team.

Minimum Qualifications (Experience, Skills, and Education)

• HS Diploma with HR certification (PHR or SHPR) or Bachelor's degree in HR, Business or equivalent in related field.
• Minimum of three (3) years experience in Human Resources at Benefit Specialist level, and working knowledge of appropriate HR and Benefit laws, policies and practices.
• Minimum of three (3) years experience at a proficient level within a Human Resources Management System (HRMS).
• Works on problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
• Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
• Must confidentially demonstrate conduct that reflects MEI's Mission and Values as well as appropriate levels of discretion and confidentiality.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication (written, verbal and presentation), facilitation, integration and problem solving & project management skills.
• Demonstrated abilities working as a highly functioning remote professional in a multi-site, multi-state organization.
• Possess self-directed, positive and professional demeanor.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office Applications and HRMS software at an intermediate to advanced level.
• Ability to travel on occasion as needed to Regional Office sites.
