Practical Nurse (Outpatient)

Job Title

The duties of this position include:

Initiate and maintain medical histories on patients; record observations; maintain timely and accurate documentation; identify symptoms; and report significant findings to the supervising nurse or physician.

Perform direct nursing care to clinic patients via telemedicine, virtual, and face-to-face care to include triage, procedures, nurse-managed protocols, medication management, and nursing assessments.

Prepare and deliver oral, topical, and injectable forms of medication while monitoring for, and responding to, side effects or adverse reactions.

Prepare patients for procedures, such as wound care, catheterizations, and respiratory therapies; set up necessary equipment; maintain sterile environments; and monitor patient responses during and after procedures.

Take an active role in supporting the healthcare team during emergency situations by assisting with resuscitations, stabilizations, and other critical interventions.

Assist in counseling and educating patients to include, but not limited to diet, personal hygiene, acute or chronic illness, wellness/preventative health measures, normal development, immunizations, and demonstrating proper use of medical devices.
