Make a difference as a skilled advocate for students by supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing learners in an engaging, itinerant role for the 2026-2027 school year. This contract opportunity provides part-time hours—20 per week—across K-12 educational settings, offering the chance to positively impact students in a dynamic, supportive environment.
Ideal candidates demonstrate a passion for inclusive education and are experienced or credentialed as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing. If you are also licensed in special education, a full-time schedule may be possible.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid teaching license as Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (required)
- Strong skills in supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across diverse educational levels (K-12)
- Willingness and ability to travel between school sites (itinerant role)
- Flexibility and resourcefulness in developing individualized educational strategies
- Special Education licensure desired for potential full-time placement, but not required
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Consult and collaborate with classroom teachers, interpreters, and other service providers
- Support IEP development and implementation, ensuring compliance and advocacy
- Consult with families to facilitate student progress and success
- Travel to multiple school sites each week, serving students in inclusive and resource settings
- Monitor, document, and report student progress
