Quality Assurance Manager

QA ManagerThe Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for defining and executing a strategy to improve our capabilities to deliver high quality software in an agile environment. This includes creating a test strategy and automation frameworks for integrating commercial products, internal software, and interfaces between systems, while advancing our architectural goals. This person also will establish release management processes to production in collaboration with key IT staff.Responsibilities:Work with IT leadership to devise overall strategies for product deliveryPromote continuous improvement and help teams increase productivity and foster innovationWork with agile delivery teams to understand product vision and product backlogsDefine and execute a quality assurance strategy while tailoring the approach for individual projectsDrive development of test strategies and creation of appropriate test harnessesCreation and management of test data for use by automated scriptsOversee the development and execution of test plans and monitor and report on test executionDesign and manage a configuration management process for transferring changes between development and production environments.Work closely with IT governance in developing quality standards and best practices; identify program deviance from standards, and suggest modifications to ensure complianceManage a team of quality assurance engineers and consulting partnersQualifications:Bachelor's degree and 8-10 years of experience in a related position in financial services.Proven knowledge of a standard software quality assurance methodology, components, deliverables, and how these integrate within the software development lifecycle is required.Flexibility in operating within a dynamic highly fluid environmentMicrosoft .NET knowledge; Strong knowledge of Transact SQL, Microsoft SQL ServerAutomated testing tools, e.g. Rational, Load Runner, Test Director, MercuryStrong understanding of configuration management toolsKnowledge of at least one source control tool with preference for PerforceBroad knowledge of technology development, infrastructure and support environments
