Client's Digital Investor Services team is responsible for defining, delivering, and leading the lifecycle of our platforms and services which enable digital interactions with clients at scale. Our digital experience is the way that most clients interact with us daily, and we’re passionate about building the best experience possible for our users.
We work, think and approach problems differently than your traditional financial services firm, and we aim to change both how Schwab operates and how the industry serves investors. In this role, you will support the development of content creation and delivery of digital messaging platform capabilities. You will be partnering with cross-enterprise platforms to understand their messaging needs including client and firm impact and then prioritize those needs and build out a messaging strategy. You will execute the delivery of messaging that aligns with the overall vision, strategy and roadmap of Digital Messaging. You will also support a product roadmap and work alongside the team of product owners who will continually evolve how we communicate with our clients and how we’re measuring our success.
The team is responsible for:
• Strategy - Envision the future and build the near-term roadmap for the Digital Messaging channel and adoption
• Execution – Support all aspects required to bring new multi-channel digital messages to clients, including the gathering of requirements, creation, development and implementation of the solutions
• Client service – Serve clients with compelling capabilities that improve client outcomes
• Partnership – Collaborate with a cross-enterprise team of partners to understand the messaging needs and how our product can deliver value to our clients
What you're good at
• You will work closely with the leadership team to understand needs and deliver on the vision and goals for our client's digital messaging needs
• Multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment organizing activities with team members to achieve success
• Define and prioritize the product backlog to deliver on business vision and priorities; ensuring the team knows with accurate detail what they are expected to build
• Ensure customer-driven design across user pain points, market needs, and usability test results
• Execute the development process with technical teams, internal partners and external vendors from beginning to end including writing business requirements / use cases / user stories, working with legal / compliance, conducting user acceptance testing and communicating project status to project team.
• Resolve problems and partner with peers, technical teams and our internal clients to provide solutions and timely resolution.
• Support sprint and release plans together with Scrum Master
• Participate in retrospectives to continually improve team processes
• You will champion Agile methodologies, participating in the product owners role in daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning sessions, backlog prioritization, user story preparation and demos.
• You will work cross-functionally with technical, product, design, business, and compliance counterparts to define product release requirements and investigate production issues as they arise.
• You will work to create the awareness and engagement plan for your capabilities and provide relevant and concise updates to management teams
• You will serve as a channel/utility subject matter authority and evangelist to partners
• You will think “horizontally” to deliver an exceptional experience for our clients across our channel
What you'll have
• Data Analytics experience with a strong ability to turn data into insights.
• Strategic problem solver with the ability to formulate compelling vision and strategy and translate that to measurable roadmaps and results
• Strong knowledge base and experience developing or leading digital platforms, coupled with knowledge of the underlying technology, both current and emerging
• Ability to influence and build strong relationships across multiple levels of the organization
• Highly developed communication and presentations skills with a superior ability to effectively communicate and present complex concepts and issues to leadership teams
• Understanding of Sales Force Market Cloud
• Skilled at working cross-functionally with technology, service, marketing and product teams to lead the entire lifecycle of a digital platform
• Prior experience as an Agile Product Owner or leading scrum teams is preferred, with a deep understanding of agile
• Curiosity, a can-do attitude and the ability to learn quickly and thrive in a complex, dynamic environment
• Self-starter with outstanding organizational skills and ability to track multiple project deliverables with minimal direction
• Confidence communicating and tailoring messaging to a variety of audiences, including senior leadership
• Ability to identify and manage risk: such as performance risk and ability to create mitigation plans and risk controls
• Enjoy being a leader with vision who naturally challenges the status quo
• Good understanding and/or experience with financial services regulations is a plus
• Bachelor’s degree required (MBA preferred)
4+ years digital product owner experience
