A veterinary compounding pharmacy known for its specialized equine and animal care is seeking a Staff Pharmacist to join their team. This contract-to-hire position involves a hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced, growing pharmacy setting dedicated to delivering high-quality non-sterile compounded medications for animal patients.

The pharmacist will oversee 3–4 pharmacy technicians, ensure compliance with pharmacy policies, and support daily operations. This role requires expertise in veterinary or equine compounding rather than human-only compounding, highlighting a deep commitment to animal healthcare. The pharmacy processes over 200 prescriptions daily and manages a formulary of approximately 25–30 regularly reordered items, offering a dynamic and impactful work environment.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and mentor a team of 3–4 pharmacy technicians
• Verify prescriptions and manage the daily workflow efficiently
• Review and maintain inventory of commonly used veterinary formularies
• Ensure compliance with established procedures and quality standards
• Collaborate with team members to optimize pharmacy operations
• Provide leadership with an emphasis on exceptional animal patient care
• Assist with inventory management and operational duties as needed

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

• Active Pharmacist license with applicable state requirements
• Experience in equine or veterinary/animal non-sterile compounding (human-only compounding is not sufficient)
• Strong leadership and supervisory capabilities
• Excellent work ethic, initiative, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Commitment to following procedures and delivering outstanding care for animal patients
• Quick learner with adaptability and attention to detail
