Shift: 72 hours every two weeks

Steady Nights 7pm to 7am Rotation with rotating weekends and holiday per policy

Union: Yes

The Unit

Allegheny General's 7A Unit is 40 beds

Patients will be Neuro, cranies, strokes and some backs

Cervical and lumbar surgery, post-op pituitary tumor resections, "strokes"- accredited stroke certified unit, brain tumors-resection/radiation, MVA, gunshots, encephalopathic brain cases of unknown origin-Rabies, lymes, cruechfelt-jacob; Guillian bare, myasthenia gravis; off-service medical patients.

General Overview

Responsible and accountable for a designated patient population for the purpose of providing care based upon enactment of the nursing process.

Demonstrates clinical assessment skills and care planning skills. Provides safe and effective care for the age population served according to regulatory requirements. Professionally directs and manages the activities of the patient care delivery by the team members. Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team for the plan of care from admission through discharge. Assesses learning needs of patient and family and provides education based on age, culture and willingness to learn

Qualifications

Minimum

• Bachelor's Degree Nursing or relevant experience and/or education as determined by the company in lieu of Bachelor's Degree.
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• CPR American Heart Association
• Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).

Preferred

• BSN
• 3 years' experience in clinical specialty
• Previous supervisory experience
• Certification in area of specialty
