Job Title: Neurodiagnostic Tech II

Experience: Minimum 2 years of proven experience as a Neurodiagnostic Technician is preferred.

License: Required certification in Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
Certifications: Preferred registration by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic Technologists in at least one specialty area.

Must-Have:
Proven ability to perform Electroencephalography.
Experience with electrode application and International 10-20 System.
Competence in neurodiagnostic procedures and patient history documentation.

Description:
Under limited supervision, prepares patients for routine Electroencephalography (EEG), Electromyography (EMG), long-term and intraoperative monitoring, evoked potentials, nerve conduction velocities, autonomic testing, and additional diagnostic studies.
Accurately measures and applies electrodes according to laboratory standards.
Ensures that electrode impedances meet required standards.
Documents comprehensive patient history, including seizure types, medical history, and medications.
Explains test procedures to patients and their families.
Recognizes medical contraindications for activation procedures.
Prepares testing supplies, exam rooms, and neurodiagnostic equipment following established protocols.
Implements alternative methods or adjusts controls to achieve optimal recording quality.
Observes and trains for EMG, EVP, autonomics, intraoperative monitoring, and other diagnostic techniques.
Triages software errors, equipment malfunctions, and other technical issues related to patient care.
Assists in scheduling and checking in patients.
Reviews and clips continuous EEG files according to laboratory standards.
May be required to float to other sites as necessary.
Other duties as assigned.
