Role Description The Attorney will handle a litigation-focused caseload, including conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, and appellate briefs, and managing files from inception through resolution. Day-to-day responsibilities include evaluating claims, developing case strategies, taking and defending depositions, engaging in discovery, and preparing for and conducting trials. The Attorney will communicate regularly with clients, insurers, and opposing counsel, provide case updates, and offer clear, practical legal advice aligned with clients’ business needs. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Covington, LA, requiring close collaboration with other attorneys, paralegals, and staff to ensure efficient, cost-conscious litigation management and high-quality advocacy at both trial and appellate levels. Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar admission in Louisiana (or eligibility for prompt admission). Experience in civil litigation, including case evaluation, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation. Strong legal research and writing skills, with the ability to draft clear, persuasive pleadings, motions, and appellate briefs. Effective oral advocacy skills for hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials. Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to cost-effective representation, with sound judgment on litigation strategy and resource use. Professional communication skills for working with clients, insurers, colleagues, and court personnel. High ethical standards, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach to working with a litigation team. Prior experience representing insurers, businesses, or Fortune 500 clients is preferred but not required.
