PRN/Respiratory Therapist/ RRT

Overview Provides respiratory care to patients in acute, chronic, and emergency situations. Performs documentation per established charting procedures, selects and assembles respiratory equipment, conducts minor repairs, and participates in professional development activities. Responsibilities Accurately document respiratory care using established charting procedures. Select, assemble, check, and maintain respiratory equipment for proper operation and cleanliness. Perform minor repairs to correct equipment malfunctions. Practice safety, security, and health precautions during cleaning and sterilization. Conduct in-service educational programs related to respiratory care. Work with managers to develop professional development plans and attend appropriate in-services. Minimum Qualifications Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care. Licensed Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) in Georgia. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ACLS/NRP as required. Physical and Environmental Requirements Physical demands: lifting 20–50 lbs up to 33% of the workday, 11–25 lbs 34–66%, 0–10 lbs 67–100%; carrying objects up to 25 lbs; frequent standing, walking, occasional sitting; close eye work involving computers and typing. Environmental exposures may include blood-borne pathogens, bio-hazardous waste, chemicals, electrical shock, temperature extremes, radiation, shift work, and travel.
