Bartender

QED Hospitality is a restaurant operations management group, focused on running Food & Beverage operations in boutique hotels and exclusive sites nationally.

As a Bartender at Broussard's , you are a key part of the guest experience, bringing together thoughtful service, exceptional beverages, and genuine New Orleans hospitality. You will create and serve cocktails, wine, beer, and spirits while building relationships with guests and maintaining a polished, welcoming bar environment.

The ideal candidate is personable, knowledgeable, attentive, and confident in a fast-paced environment. You understand that bartending is more than making drinks—it is about creating the moment , anticipating guest needs, and making every guest feel welcomed and cared for.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Guest Experience & Hospitality

• Welcome guests warmly and provide attentive, professional service throughout their visit.
• Build rapport with guests and create a welcoming, memorable bar experience.
• Anticipate guest needs and provide thoughtful recommendations based on preferences.
• Respond to questions and concerns with professionalism and a solutions-oriented approach.
• Maintain a polished and professional presence while delivering genuine Southern hospitality.

Beverage Knowledge & Service

• Prepare and serve cocktails, wine, beer, and spirits accurately and consistently.
• Maintain strong knowledge of beverage offerings, ingredients, preparation methods, and flavor profiles.
• Follow recipes, specifications, and presentation standards.
• Communicate menu items, specials, and potential allergens accurately.
• Make knowledgeable beverage recommendations and support beverage sales.
• Maintain awareness of responsible alcohol service requirements.

Bar Operations

• Complete opening, closing, and side work duties according to established standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar throughout service.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs to management.
• Properly handle glassware, bar equipment, ice, garnishes, and other supplies.
• Maintain accurate POS transactions, payments, and checks.
• Follow all sanitation, food safety, and responsible alcohol service procedures.

Teamwork & Communication

• Work closely with Servers, Maitre D, Hosts, Barbacks, Culinary, Events, and Management.
• Communicate guest requests, allergies, celebrations, and special circumstances in real time.
• Support teammates and assist wherever needed to maintain smooth service.
• Participate in pre-shift meetings and stay informed about menu changes, events, and daily operations.

Events & Special Functions

• Provide professional beverage service during weddings, private dinners, celebrations, and other events.
• Adapt service style and priorities to accommodate large parties and special functions.
• Support beverage execution for event-specific menus, packages, and guest requests.

Safety & Professionalism

• Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming bar environment.
• Handle alcohol, glassware, equipment, and spills safely.
• Recognize and appropriately respond to signs of intoxication in accordance with company and legal requirements.
• Communicate safety, maintenance, or guest concerns to management promptly.
• Represent Broussard's and QED Hospitality with professionalism at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS :
Required

• Previous bartending or hospitality experience.
• Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine, beer, and beverage service.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Warm, confident, and professional demeanor.
• Ability to multitask and remain composed in a high-volume environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately manage orders and payments.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and high-volume service periods.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
• Must meet all applicable legal requirements for alcohol service.

Preferred

• Experience in upscale or fine dining.
• Craft cocktail or high-volume bar experience.
• Knowledge of classic and modern New Orleans cocktails.
• Experience with POS and inventory systems.
• Experience supporting private dining, weddings, or large-scale events.
• Knowledge of New Orleans dining, hospitality, and tourism.
• Familiarity with French-Creole cuisine and the history of Broussard's or New Orleans is a plus.

Physical, Mental, and Environmental Demands

This role requires the ability to move throughout the restaurant, event spaces, and property as needed. The Sales Manager must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, up to 12 hours, and lift up to 50 pounds when necessary. The position also requires manual dexterity and coordination to operate restaurant and office equipment.

Because events are dynamic and fast-paced, the ideal candidate must be able to remain composed in high-pressure situations, respond to visual and verbal cues quickly, and adapt as needs change throughout service and event execution.
