Heat Treat Furnace Operator 1st and 2nd shifts available Wage Rate – $18.64-25.90 The Heat Treat Furnace Operator is responsible for operation and maintenance of the heat treat furnace, which is used to harden and temper the steel fasteners This key role must ensure safe operation of the equipment and temperature instruments to ensure the steel stabilizes as required for the strength and utility needed for the specific fastener application. The Operator works with a small team and must be self-motivated and dependable. About The Role Of a Heat Treat Furnace Operator Maintain furnace controls to meet specified requirements of the process Mechanically inclined, but not required. Inspect parts before and after the heat-treating operation for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments and visual acuity Read and record computer controls such as the carbon controller to ensure required temperatures, soak time, and cooling times are maintained Document parts not meeting specifications and issue rejection notices or rework orders as needed Maintain required documentation of inspections and follow lot tracing protocols Participate in 5S housekeeping Additional skills and/or experience required for success in the role of a Heat Treat Furnace Operator: Previous heat treat experience Self-motivated; able to work without constant supervision Excellent work ethics: dependable, reliable, follows established procedures Possesses basic computer skills Able to work in a team environment; gets along with others Able to read work and understand work instructions, blue prints, technical documents and customer requirements Able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing Able to record information and calculate data as needed Able and willing to wear the required protective clothing and PPE mandated by OSHA and the company Able to commit to perfect attendance during the training schedule Able to work in hot, oily, and noisy conditions Able to stand, walk, bend, push, pull, lift, and sit as needed throughout the day Able to pass a drug screen and background check Benefits competitive wages pay increases every 6 months benefits 1st day sign on / referral bonuses 2 weeks paid vacation 13 paid holidays employee focused events and much more This job description is not intended to be inclusive of all assigned duties, responsibilities or aspects of the job described, and may be amended at any time at the sole discretion of the company.
