Duties

• Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
• Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and treatment options to promote lifelong dental health.
• Take dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring accurate imaging for diagnosis while adhering to infection prevention protocols.
• Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR system Sensei cloud), documenting treatment plans, medical history, and clinical notes accurately.
• Maintain strict infection control standards through aseptic techniques, sterilization of equipment, and adherence to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
• Operate dental equipment safely, including dental x-ray machines, intraoral cameras, and other diagnostic tools.
• Monitor vital signs as needed before procedures to ensure patient safety during treatment.
• Provide excellent client communication by explaining procedures clearly and addressing patient concerns with professionalism and empathy.

Experience

• Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist in a fast-paced dental office or clinic setting.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection prevention management.
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and management of medical records.
• Hands-on experience with dental x-ray techniques and maintaining radiation safety standards.
• Demonstrated ability to perform pediatric dentistry procedures with patience and care for young patients (preferred).
• Excellent communication skills for effective patient education and team collaboration.
• Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention protocols, aseptic technique, and HIPAA compliance management is essential.
