Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Make a meaningful impact supporting students with Autism as an onsite Autistic Support Teacher for an Intermediate Unit near Waynesburg, PA. This contract-based opportunity spans the 2026-2027 academic year, offering you the chance to use your special education experience in a nurturing school-based setting.
Your primary role will be to provide tailored educational support and build trusting relationships with students on the autism spectrum. You will collaborate with dedicated professionals and contribute to a positive, inclusive environment that cultivates growth and achievement.
Qualifications:
- Current Special Education Teaching certification for the state of Pennsylvania (PA SPED Educator Cert required)
- Experience serving students with autism or in similar specialized support roles
- Strong communication, empathy, and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt instructional methods to meet individual needs and support IEP goals
- Dedication to fostering an inclusive, empowering classroom environment
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with autism
- Utilize evidence-based practices to engage and support each student
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate with staff, families, and specialists
- Track, evaluate, and document student progress toward goals
- Contribute to a safe and supportive classroom atmosphere
- Maintain professional, positive relationships with all stakeholders
This contract assignment will take place onsite at the campus, with interview scheduling already underway. This role not only allows you to showcase your skills as a Special Education Teacher but also to make a direct difference in the lives of your students.
