Electrical Estimator - Data Center White Space Fit Out

Position Overview We are seeking a highly experienced Electrical Estimator specializing in mission‑critical and data center facilities to support large‑scale, fast‑paced hyperscale and colocation projects. The role is responsible for developing accurate, competitive, and risk‑aware electrical estimates across all project phases, from conceptual budgeting through GMP and negotiated work. Given the complexity of data center electrical systems—high‑voltage distribution, redundant power architectures, and specialized equipment—this position protects margin, improves bid accuracy, and enables scalable growth in our data center portfolio. Responsibilities Prepare detailed electrical estimates for data center projects ranging from conceptual budgets to GMP submissions Perform quantity takeoffs for all electrical systems, including: Medium‑voltage and low‑voltage distribution UPS systems, switchgear, transformers, PDUs, RPPs, and busway Branch circuitry, lighting, grounding, bonding, and raceway systems Evaluate electrical one‑line diagrams, specifications, and construction documents for completeness and constructability Develop scope narratives, inclusions, exclusions, assumptions, and clarifications Solicit and analyze subcontractor and vendor pricing; perform leveling and gap analysis Identify project‑specific risks related to redundancy, phasing, commissioning, and equipment procurement Coordinate with operations, engineering, and supply chain during design‑assist and preconstruction phases Support value engineering exercises without compromising performance, redundancy, or code compliance Maintain historical cost data and lessons learned from completed data center projects Assist with change order pricing and cost validation as needed Prepare bid deliverables: estimate summary, schedule impacts, risk register inputs, VE logs, estimated manpower, estimated straight/overtime hours, and project duration (project schedule not provided with bid documents, estimated) Required Qualifications Minimum 7–10 years of electrical estimating experience, with significant data center or mission‑critical project exposure Demonstrated experience estimating hyperscale or colocation data centers preferred Strong understanding of: Redundant power topologies NEC, NFPA, and IEEE applicable local codes Industry best practices for mission‑critical environments Proficiency with estimating software and tools (e.g., Bluebeam, Excel, and Procore) Ability to read and interpret electrical design documents, one‑lines, and technical specifications Attributes: Strong analytical skills and a high attention to detail and accuracy Strong organizational skills and ability to operate in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment Risk awareness and proactive issue identification Collaborative and solutions‑oriented mindset to work with sales, design, project management, and procurement teams Strong written and verbal communication for internal and client‑facing deliverables Preferred Qualifications Background with an electrical contractor, mission‑critical builder, or data center owner’s representative Experience with fast‑track, phased construction, and live campus work Familiarity with commissioning requirements and integrated systems testing Exposure to long‑lead equipment procurement strategies and vendor negotiations Procore experience #J-18808-Ljbffr Align
