Position Summary
Five Crowns is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our accounting team. This position is responsible for managing customer invoicing, collections, payment processing, and maintaining accurate financial records in a fast-pace fresh produce environment. The ideal candidate understands the time-sensitive nature of agricultural operations and has strong organizational and communication skills.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Generate and process customer invoices accurately and timely
- Post customer payments (checks, ACH, wire transfers, credit cards)
- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies
- Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding billing issues
- Coordinate with sales and operations teams to verify pricing, credits, and deductions
- Process adjustments, credit memos, and claims
- Assist with month-end closing related to A/R
- Maintain organized customer files and documentation
- Support audit requests and financial reporting needs
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
Qualifications & Experience
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 2+ years of accounts receivable experience (produce or agriculture industry preferred)
- Knowledge of produce billing, freight, and deductions is a plus
- Strong understanding of accounting principles
- Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Famous, or ERP systems preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
